Domains & DNS

Connect a domain and pass DNS checks

MailStrap hosts email for domains you own. To connect one:

  1. 1Go to Domains and choose Add domain.
  2. 2If your DNS is hosted on Cloudflare, connect your Cloudflare account and we push every record automatically.
  3. 3Otherwise, add the records we show you at your DNS host: an MX record for receiving, SPF and DKIM records so your mail authenticates, and a DMARC policy.

Every record has a copy button. After adding them, hit Verify. Checks usually pass within minutes; DNS can occasionally take up to an hour to propagate.

If a check stays red, the most common causes are a typo in the record value, a duplicate SPF record (a domain may only have one), or a proxy setting on the record (DNS records for mail must be DNS-only, not proxied).
